Japanese hot dogs

We were inspired to try the Japanese hot dogs from the June issue of the Food Network magazine. Hubby and I actually liked it. The ingredients were Asian party mix, pickled ginger and wasabi mayo. I was so hesitant as to how the ginger would play a roll in this dog but I thought the ginger just worked out fine. We will be trying the other toppings that the magazine recommends.

LONG weekend!

I don't know why but the kids have been picking on each other quite a bit this weekend. Little miss has given up her mimi. It was rough on Friday but it has gotten so much easier as we are coming to an end this weekend. She still asks for mimi but she knows mimi is off helping other babies. Thanks to my husband for making me a very much needed drink. Will post pics later of the kids strawberry picking.

Rain, rain go away

I know rain is good for my garden and I don't have to water so one less chore BUT I am over this gloomy weather we have been having lately. Since little miss and I had one too many errands yesterday I decided today would be a kick back and not do our hair day. We did go outside to look at the rain fall and saw a little birdie enjoying the rain.

Lunch was left overs and green tea. I just wanted something I had to warm up in the microwave...blame the weather for my mood ;)

I love Yogi green tea and I especially love their words of wisdom on each tab of the tea bag.

Happy 4th birthday Maelin!

My cat turned 4 today. Even though she and I don't always get along I am so glad she is apart of our family. We bought her at a time when I really needed someone to look after. I had a miscarriage in May '07 and I had to go to the hospital and have a D&C and that was really hard on me. Especially since hubby was still in CA and I was TX visiting. So, once he arrived in TX we came across an ad in the San Antonio newspaper and called up the woman. We drove to her trailer outside of SA and her home REEKED of cat urine and she showed us her two "ragdolls". I chose Maelin over her brother because I really wanted a girl. Even though her brother was chubby and playful I still went with the skinny and skittish kitten. She ended up being sick and underweight when I took her two days later for a check up. She also isn't a Ragdoll like the woman advertised. I am still glad we bought her and I believe we saved her life :)
