Clothing Swap
My great friend,Barbie, had a clothing swap today. I got some great stuff but by far my best picks were a pair of brown Uggs (I usually feel like Cinderella's step sister in the shoe dept. at these things since no one seems to be a 7 1/2 or 8). Today someone had a pair of 8's :D and they were in great condition. The 2nd item is a free make up brush set from Arbonne. I had SERIOUSLY been in need of new brushes. Mine have seen better days but good brushes are so expensive. The cheaper sets are usually tiny versions of the full size brushes and full size sets are $$$. So, if I was going to buy new ones I wanted good ones that would last me awhile and I didn't want tiny brushes. This woman brought a box of unused Arbonne products and said one was a brush set. I had to have it. It was too good to pass up. I was very happy I had a new brush set and hubby was even happier because not a dime was spent. I didn't have time to take a pic of my clothing because I am washing everything so I decided to take a picture of my two happy finds :) Thank you Barbie for hosting one and thank you so much for taking me to my very first clothing swap almost a year ago.

Vera, Vera on my arm
I am really loving of some of the new Vera Bradley patterns that are out for Spring. I'm so glad my birthday is right around the corner ;)

My favorite has to be this pattern Blue Lagoon. Online I didn't care for it but when I saw it at the store I just loved it.

I really love the Weekender bag in Pink Pinwheel or Imperial Toile (both on sale...even better). Each bag uses two of my favorite color schemes. Plus with us leaving to TX for the summer I think it will come in handy for our short trips. We mainly stay with my parents but we do take trips to see my MIL and my grandparents. I am so tired of having to lug my big suitcase for a few days stay in one place.

I love the Imperial Toile pattern as well for the hanging organizer.
We've only bought one gift for Miss M right now. I am a tad bit clueless as what to get her. She received so much for Christmas. I am thinking of maybe a little car that she can use outside. She also loves anything she can push around. She isn't picky so I'm pretty sure she'll be happy with whatever she gets.

I'm dreaming of a white...sanded beach
'It's my thing, get over it'
DH is back to his late shift so that leaves me alone with the remote and indulging in one thing I loathe...reality tv (with the exception of cooking reality shows). I enjoy watching my dvr shows alone and without unwanted commentations (sorry hun). One show that I find myself DVRing and have been for a while now is Teen Mom.

Why? I honestly don't have a really good reason only that I think on some level I can identify with them (not ALL of them). I was 19 and newly single when I first became pregnant and 20 when I had my son. I had an up and down relationship with my son's father. A lot of these girls are in the same boat as I was and so I guess sympathize with them. I guess to admit that I like to watch it to others makes me feel the need to be a tad bit defensive like Miranda was on an episode of SATC. She liked to indulge in celebrity gossip and her response to others was "its my thing, get over it."

Smallish update
We've been kinda busy and lazy around here. Busy because DH was gone for a few days for work. So it was just the kids and...ME and they definitely kept me on my toes. Lazy because we finally got several inches of snow and caused Matt to miss almost the whole week of school. We all just stayed in watched movies and kept warm.
We updated a little bit of our bathroom. I can't find any of the accessories that match the shower curtain I chose. I want it all to match down to the wastebasket...anal I know but I've let our bathroom slack for too long. I forgot to take a before picture but there wasn't much. Our shower curtain was stripes and the colors were orange, yellow and green...not really something I cared for. Can't wait to update the sink area whenever I find the matching accessories. Hope y'all have a great week :)

Many blog names
I've changed my blog names quite a few times since I started it in Oct.'08. I started it because we had just found that we were expecting a girl and instead of mass emailing everyone w/updates and pictures I thought this would be easier. I also felt that not everyone on my Facebook page would care to see all pictures or hear all my updates. So began "The Springsteen Family Blog." After a while I began to feel that I could only update my blog about my family and not anything else (silly I know) so I changed it to..."The Married Crazy Cat Lady." I have grown up LOVING cats. We have owned many cats since I was little girl up until I got married. I have a small collection of cat figurines. I use to dress my cats up and still do for holidays. My cousin M once told me upon me telling her I was pregnant with my son that she couldn't believe I was pregnant. She said she thought I would've ended up single with a bunch of cats...gee thanks but I kinda feel like that's how I would've ended up too. Right now my cat and I are going thru our teen/over bearing parent yrs. She has been acting quite a bit lately. Also, after MANY MANY years of being against declawing cats I am finally going to have her declawed. I have many reasons to. I am so over soft clawing her...she bites her own fake nails off anyways. So, since our relationship isn't so much of the crazy cat person right now I switched it for a milla second to "From TX to..." I felt as a military family it would be fun to blog about missing TX at times. I follow quite a few TX blogs and their posts usually have me missing home. With hubby's career their isn't a chance for us to be stationed there UNLESS he switches career fields which we are unsure about just yet. So, after that I thought what if we do end up back in TX. Then my blog would be "From Tx to...Tx?" So, I put the star up for now til I have some time to think. I need it to be something that kinda describes me and rolls off my tongue when I say it :) Hopefully the new name will be soon.

Its been one week...
It has been one week since my family flew back to TX and I think it has taken me that long to begin to get back into a schedule. I had a wonderful visit w/ them even though we weren't able to venture out to DC like I had planned (Mady Lou was very sick during their visit). So, we mostly bummed around the house. DH and I were able to get out for TWO dates in a week!! (We are lucky to get one every 6 months) but definitely won't see that again til the summer, which I am ok with. I received some great gifts but the best gift was just having my parents and sister here for both holidays. Mom cooked and her food was great. Ken was happy to have had enchildas twice during her stay. Kat definitely took a load off of Ken and I having to entertain the kids. They both wanted to be around her more than anyone else. Dad of course was the conversationalist. I made a few New Year's resolutions. I figured if I typed them out for someone to read then I'd have to follow thru. So, I am trying to control my temper a little more (trying to find a picture/word or something that will snap me into thinking first),take more yoga classes, eat a little healthier and to potty train Mady :)
Every January since I've been married I get a hair up my you know what to rearrange some part of the house. Last year we (Ken) switched three of our rooms out. Matt took our computer room which is the 2nd biggest room in the house,Mady took Matt's room and her room became our computer room. That room was the smallest but also the one right next to ours. It was a VERY LONG weekend but we got thru it and the rooms have all worked out great. This year it finally hit me that we (Ken & I) always put ourselves last. I wanted to get new sheets for our room and fix up our closet and master bathroom. So far we finished our room but I am hoping by summer we will have the closet and bathroom ready. Before and after pic of our room.
The Before:
The After:
The large dresser has been moved into our walk-in closet. I'm not planning on leaving that seat in front of our bed there but will be moved back into the closet once I am done in fixing it up.
